The placement is a 29 acre avocado grove that is being transformed from a mono culture to a poly culture by interplanting coffee trees and other semi-tropical crops

Training Expectations :

This will be a customized training opportunity that will focus on California Coffee cultivation as a potential new crop and other sustainable interplanting strategies and carbon drawdown research and practical testing

On-Site Training, Steward’s primary activities :

working with new coffee planting, working in the coffee seedling nursery, doing research on the coffee plantings and learning about Southern California organic agriculture

Climate and Location Description

Southern California coastal climate, 14 to 21 miles from the coast, during the August thru November time line it will be summer heat to fall cooling but still warm

Compensation :

We are planning to rent a mobile camper van that has a self contained house on the back, which can be parked at the 3 locations Eranda will train, Free, daily food, The National Heirloom Festival, visiting the Whittier College Coffee Initiative, visiting other local coffee production sites

Accommodations and amenities provided :

a full mobile camper home will be provided. This will enable us to move from training site to training site during the program
