About the Placement:
Detailed Placement Description
Farm/Agricultural Stewards focused on assisting in development of natural pest controls including: bio-pesticides, plant nutrition and health products, and traditional technologies when appropriate, and use chemistry to improve crop production. These Stewards work to increase the quality and quantity of crops and create innovative techniques that farmers can adopt.

About the Internship:
Training Hours:
40 hours per week
Training Expectations :
Be able to successfully integrate with the host team
Follow the conduct expectations set forth for the host team
Quick learner and able to master the processes in a reasonable amount of time
Being able to work side by side with the host team in a reasonable speed
On-Site Training, Steward’s primary activities :
• Have previous lab experience
Day to day activities include measuring pipettes, balances, graduated cylinders, and flow meters, taking accurate notes and generally moving things into place to help the field application manager.
• Must be comfortable working around ag inputs used in crop and greenhouse crop management, such as conventional and organic pesticides, fertilizers, and cleaning products, as well as basic lab equipment.
• Must be able to work outside in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time wearing PPE and a respirator.
• Applying fertilizers and pesticides with tractor and backpack equipment (training will be provided)
• Overseeing fertilization
• Collecting plant samples for studies and experiments
• Enhancing soil enrichment
• Studying planting techniques.
• Traveling to offsite locations to perform plant evaluations and spray applications.
• Maintain fertilization program.
• General tractor operation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Climate and Location Description
Florida has warm temperatures most of the year with peak hot temperatures during the summer months. The main station is located in Thonotosassa, FL., with other satellite sites with a day-trip distance.
Compensation :
There are housing facilities in the station., We will provide a weekly food stipend, We are a research firm so Stewards will be exposed to new learning experiences on a regular basis.

Full housing provided with separate rooms and shared kitchen, bathroom, and dining and living room.
