This placement is owned and operated by a Non-profit organization.

Number and Type of livestock: 5 chickens
My farm/organization is : Certified Organic.
I am participating in our own internship program.
I am an active member of CCOF.
Educational Activities : All of our sustainable living and solar workshops are available to interns.
Social Environment: Work with a small team of dedicated staff and other interns all focused on sustainable living.

About the Internship
Training Hours:
40hours per week.
Training Expectations :
We offer Year-round training.
sales/marketing operations: Raising awareness of our produce to visiting public
On-Site Training, Steward’s primary activities :
Supporting site management, including microgreens, assisting with workshops and children’s education.
Stewards will be raising awareness of our produce to visiting public.
Climate and Location Description
Average temperature/Typical weather: Can be over 100 in summer and freezing at night in winter. Rain in winter.
Proximity to nearest town/city: 5 minutes walk to Hopland (small town) 15 minutes drive to Ukiah, larger town.
Geographic Location:
Hopland and Ukiah are small towns with many interesting places to visit. A strong sense of sustainability and off grid living resonates in these communities.
Compensation :
Free, daily food, $1/week for food allowance, Participation in solar and sust. living class
Accommodations and amenities provided :
Accommodations:
Interns live in our intern village which includes a kitchen/living area, male/female dormitories, and shower house with other interns/stewards. Bedroom is shared and bathroom is shared. Lodging is simple, with basic amenities (heat, indoor bathroom).
Amenities:
Electric or gas heat, Solar heat, TV, VCR/DVD, Computer & Internet for steward use, Free&daily internet on-site, Telephone (Free local calls only; must buy own calling card for non-local calls), Bicycle for excursions to nearby shops/town/public transit (less than 3 miles one-way), Food provided by host to cook your own meals(shared with other interns.)Free, seasonal farm products.(Example: fruits and vegetables)
