About the Placement:
Detailed Placement Description
Garden, Homestead, Permaculture, Vegetables, Dairy, Ranch/Livestock, Vegan friendly.
We have owned the ranch since 2016, and are still at the beginning stages of building a farm. So far, our efforts have resulted in a large chicken coop, filled with 27 chickens. We also have goats, sheep, a huge garden, rabbits, cats, a great Pyrenees dog, a miniature pot belly pig, 14 hogs, a donkey , and a Holstein dairy cow and soon a honey bee colony!
We are three minutes from town and a bus stop. The bus will take you anywhere including the Bart station, which will take you to all of the nearby cities (San Francisco.)
Our family is big, we have seven children, so we don’t have a ton of time to explore with you however we can drop you off at the bus any time =-).
We are a family centered farm, and also run agricultural homeschool program during the day, we have an in-law unit for you to stay in, while we build a tiny home wwoofer house.

About the Internship
Training Hours:
32 hours
Training Expectations :
We work five days a week 6 or 7 hour days, usually breakfast at 8:00 and begin work around 8:30 which may include feeding the animals, clipping hooves, shearing wool, managing animal health, cleaning stalls, coops, gardening or working on compost. We also have classes three days a week on Agriculture for children. Steward would assist the teachers with meal prepping, lesson planning and clean up. We are looking for people who can be reliable and have knowledge or training with gardening, livestock, possibly with building or fencing, and also comfortable with children and animals.
On-Site Training, Steward’s primary activities :
Assisting teachers with agricultural classes, as well as assisting with gardening, grounds maintenence and animal care.
Climate and Location Description
we live in one of the best locations in california, warm usually eight months out of the year. gets cold and rains in the winter, however no snow.
Compensation :
$200/week, room with bathroom, Free, daily food, Health insurance* (will enroll/maintain/provide as part of the Steward’s compensation)
Accommodations and amenities provided :
Three meals a day with lots of fresh fruit and veggies for snacking, room with bathroom, laundry, internet, phone as well as rides to town
