Was the MESA information you received in your home country clear? Was the description of your training site accurate? What more would you have liked MESA to send you before you left you home country?Yes it was clear and also the description of my training site. How i was suppose to clear my CAAPX Fee.
If you worked with a Program Representative in your home country, was he/she helpful? Is there anything more the Representative could have done to help you complete your application or to better understand MESA's program?Yes I worked with him and he helped me but the CAAPX Fee was not clear to me but i knew for the first time steward i was to pay $1850. I was never explained that i needed to pay the remaining fee with the stipend am getting at my training farm. I wish i cleared with MESA fee before travelling because i was prepared enough for the program but he never responded to me on that, an i wanted to save more for my project that am doing back home.
Any problems with housing, electricity, heat, phone, driver's license, bank account, transportation? Other problems?Challenge with weather conditions" sometimes it's very hot in the afternoon" and it's draining one's energy. And the supervisor thinks one doesn't have a good attitude towards working in the afternoon.Yet suggesting we work more hours in the morning and less hours in the afternoon.(6 hours & 2 hours afternoon).
Describe the training you have received since getting to your placement site. What have you learned so far? Have you attended any special training, workshops, conferences, classes, etc.?The mastery in planting using machines i never used before, weeding and harvesting. Also how to make "raised beds" with compost and even dripping. Yes i did participate in the Carbon Sink Convergence that gave me an opportunity to interact more with other farmers and exchange ideas on how well we can farming interesting.
Have you been involved in an cultural activities since your arrival? (examples : farmers' workshop, library event, soccer games, family activities, etc)Yes i have (Family activities during weekends we usually have morale days and also participated during the Halloween.
Any suggestions to improve MESA's program? If its possible during the application the steward can be provided with the details of all the farms to see if what the farms offers matches with the interest/learning objectives of the steward since its a very noble program.
