Listen to and work with professional supervisors |
2. Specific goals and objectives for this phase |
Become comfortable and familiar with our gardens and the plants within them. |
3. Primary Supervisor’s qualifications |
Long experience in these fields doing and teaching all the required tasks from planting, pruning, compost/feeding, irrigation, weed management through record-keeping and client/public relations. |
4. What plans are in place for the Trainee/Steward to participate in cultural activities while in the United States? |
The fluent, educated steward is availing herself of varied musical and agricultural Bay Area events. |
5. Specific knowledge, skills, or techniques to be learned during this phase? |
Learn the relationships between the plants and other parts of the garden, and meet the clients. |
6. How specifically will this knowledge, skills, or techniques be taught? Include methodology of training and chronology/syllabus. |
Direct supervision and hands-on participatory training. |
7. How will the Trainee/Steward’s acquisition of new skills and competencies be measured? |
We discuss the needs at each site on arrival, then review our accomplishments before leaving, |
