About the Placement:

Detailed Placement Description

We are a small farm in a suburban neighborhood. Feels rural on some acres but close to Berkeley and Oakland, SF as well. We are very diversified in that we have many animals and beehives and work on a small intimate scale with each element on our farm.

Training Expectations :

Expectations would be to work 3-6 hours day, between 9am-3pm (with an hour break for lunch) helping in the garden, working with the animals or working on any other projects we have going on. Basic carpentry skills and experience milking animals is helpful.

On-Site Training, Steward’s primary activities :

Working in the garden, harvesting, prepping beds, weeding, planting, animal husbandry, milking, building projects.

Climate and Location Description

Moderate bay area weather. Can be hot in summer and windy. Dress in layers, rainy and cold in winter.

We do not have alot of extra money and are working with the Bay area farmer training to host 3 of their graduates.
